Hydrogenated oils
Hydrogenated oils are TOXIC to the body and they are found in many products so please read the ingredient list before you buy something that will inevitably make you sick. These oils are added to food to maximize the shelf life. The companies that are using these oils in their products do not care about your well being. What scares me most is that many children are consuming products such as cookies and crackers that are loaded with Hydrogenated Oils!! Can you believe it's even in DOG FOOD?! I love my furry babies too much to feed them Hydrogenated oils.
Hydrogenation is the process of heating an oil and passing hydrogen bubbles through it, this alters the molecular structure of fatty acids, and is harmful to the body. Hydrogenated oils are man made, and the body is unable to break them down. They are alien to the body and the organs struggle to eliminate these toxins. They are unnatural, synthetic and our bodies are not built to ingest them.
Think about this next time you are tempted to drive to a fast food restaurant and order a number 3. (that's right I've done it too) Hydrogenated oils are very thick, eating them causes a chain reaction in the body. Oil gets into the bloodstream because everything you eat ends up in the blood. In turn, all blood flows through the heart and it has to work harder to pump thicker blood through the body, which contributes to high blood pressure. So you see why so many Americans have heart disease and heart attacks, this is a side effect of hydrogenated oils.
I know it's hard to avoid toxins like Hydrogenated oils because they are everywhere and in pretty much every item on the menu at a restaurant but I do my best. Having an active social life, business dinners, friends and events... There will be a time when you just cannot avoid them. Here are 3 rules that I live by:
Rule #1: Only go out to eat if I absolutely have too.
Rule#2: Only buy products such as these for my home: Organic, No hormones, No BPA & No toxins.
Rule#3 If I have to eat at a restaurant I will order a big salad with some form of protein. No starchy or fried foods.
